Micro-finance, a financing tool for SMES and sustainable development factor in sub-saharan africa
Moustapha Aziz Ouattara (Auteur)
My subject relates to micro-finance which is a driving force in the fight against poverty and financing for SMEs in sub-Saharan Africa. I chose this subject in order to show the impact of Micro-Finance on poverty in sub-Saharan Africa and the financing of SMEs. We note that pov?erty has always been a very present phenomenon, it is an important problem that calls for solu?tions. Nowadays, more and more people are excluded from the traditional or formal financial system, the poor generally do not have access to a set of financial services allowing them to start their own business or to continue their activities, to smooth their consumption to save to protect themselves against possible risks or to finance the studies of their children. This exclu?sion everely limits the government's ability to reduce poverty. It is in this sense that Micro?Finance intervenes today to fight against poverty and allow the excluded to have permanent access to a range of quality financial services adapted to their needs. Moreover, we now see that bank financing for SMEs is subject to certain limits: initially, credit risk assessments, which would reduce the informational asymmetry between SMEs and banks, have a fixed cost that is too high. High or not low enough, banks are not motivated to finance SMEs without some form of subsidy; second, many SMEs operate in industries such as: technology and services with few
tangible assets or in environments where contract enforcement is low. So, throughout my work, I will analyze and highlight the positive and negative points of microfinance in Sub-Saharan Africa in the contribution to the fight against poverty, the development and financing access of sub-Saharan SMEs.
